Kelsey Wallace is a San Antonio-based artist exploring New Media and its intersection with Nature. Using this intersection as a foundation, Wallace delves into themes of spirituality and the unknown or dreams. By using natural elements found within nature, things such as light, color, and texture, Wallace seeks to create experiences that bring the audience into a more mindful state. Wallace’s works invite the viewer to reflect upon the ever-present mystery of Nature and the universe. Through her works in new media and traditional pieces, Wallace is demonstrating how these elements can be used to create spaces of contemplation and spiritual exploration.
“Nature is as important to our well-being than people want to believe,” said Kelsey. Inspired by the Appalachian Mountains, Wallace seeks to inspire a more understanding of the balance between nature and humans. Her work brings the viewers back to a time when we lived primitively among the magic and forces that we no longer understand.
